Lion Receives Award Knight of Sight presented to Elaine Colton June 10, 2015 --
Elaine Colton received the prestigious Knight of Sight fellowship at the Fond du Lac Evening Lions and Lioness Installation of Officers meeting. The Knight of Sight Fellowship was presented to Elaine by the club for her continued support of the club's eyeglass and hearing aid collection program along with her support of the Lions Mints sales. Lions collect used eyeglasses and hearing aids and recycle them through the Wisconsin Lions Eyeglass Recycling program. Eyeglasses are used in various mission projects in poorer countries to give better sight to those who can't afford a pair of glasses. Hearing aids are sent back to the factory for credit to purchase new hearing aids for low income people in our communities. Eyeglass and hearing aid collection sites are posted on the clubs website at fonddulaclions.org. A Knight of Sight Fellowship is awarded by the Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin upon receipt of a $1,000 donation by a club or an individual to the Eye Bank's operating fund. Elaine has been a member of the Fond du Lac Evening Lions Club for 10 years. Other FDL Evening Lions that are Knight of Sight Fellows are Wayne Bargenquast, Ed Barnes, Frank Bartzen, Betty Clausen, Tom Clausen, Gary Colton and Erv Karls.
