Lion Gary Colton, left, received the
prestigious International President's Award at the State Lions
Convention in Appleton. The award is the second
highest award presented to a Lion by Lions Clubs
International. Colton was also awarded the Lions
Leadership Award.
Colton has been a Lion in the club since September
1977 and has been president twice, secretary-treasurer for
several years before becoming a Zone Chairman. He then became Cabinet Secretary-Treasurer for
Gov. Tom Clausen in 1999 and three other governors before
becoming governor himself in 2005. He continues
to serve above the club level as the District Convention
Chairman, District Leadership Chairman and Melvin Jones
Foundation Chairman.
