Evening Lions Donate Pedi Bags

May 2012 -- Fond du Lac Evening Lions club member Frank Bartzen and President Gary Silah show the recently purchased Pedi Bag for the Town of Lamertine First Responder program.

The Pediatric Bag Project was started several years ago to have a special pediatric bag on each ambulance in the State of Wisconsin.  The Pedi Bag project was recently extended to the First Responders.  The Pedi Bag is a project sponsored by the General Federation of Women’s Clubs and local service clubs such as the Fond du Lac Evening Lions Club.  The women’s clubs provide funding of $50 per bag with the balance of $185, in this case, provided by the Lions.

This bag contains special medical equipment to treat small children.  This equipment is used to treat children from babies to those up age 10. The bag contains oral and nasopharyngeal airways, bag valve masks, pocket masks, and suction equipment.  Also included in the bag is an obstetric kit, blood pressure cuffs and other supplies that may be needed in an emergency.
