Service ActivitiesThe Fond du Lac Evening Lions provide services to community, state and international projects to help those in need have a better life through vision, hearing, handicapped or other projects that help those less fortunate than ourselves. Eye Tissue TransportersSeveral of our members volunteer their time, car and gas to transport eye tissue to our Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin in Madison or corneas prepared for surgery to the Fox Valley. Leader Dogs for the BlindLeader Dogs enhances the lives of people who are blind and visually impaired through free, innovative programs. Lions Clubs International FoundationThe foundation is set up to mostly help people of disasters, such as tornados, hurricanes and large scale diseases. Used Eyeglass and Hearing Aid CollectionOur club collects used eyeglasses and hearing aids at the following locations. Wisconsin Lions CampThe Lions of Wisconsin own one of the best camps for special needs persons in the world. Several Fond du Lac area residents attend a week of camp at no charge. Locally Funded ProjectsThe Evening Lions donates a large portion of their proceeds to local organizations that help people. Some agencies that we have donated to over the years include:
We also donate to a hearing aid fund administered by the Wisconsin Lions Foundation and provide eye glasses and exams to needy Fond du Lac residents. We are sorry, but due to our club's size and mission, we can not offer support for the building or funding of ramps at private homes. We also do not provide medical equipment for individuals. A Lions club in Larsen, west of Neenah, does have a medial closet and will provide equipment to state residents. For details, contact them at 920-427-3244. |
